
Jan B. Brown, 72, of Paris, Tennessee, died Monday, May 6, 2024, at Henry County Medical Center.
Jan was born Wednesday, May 9, 1951, in Murray, Kentucky, to the late J.T. Burton and the late Virginia Wright Burton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother: Terry Burton.
She took care of many children for 40 years at her day care where she was referred to as “Memaw.”
Jan was an avid Alabama fan, loved camping and boating, but her favorite thing was watching her grandchildren play sports.
She was a member of Tennessee Valley Community Church.
She was married December 5, 1970, to Johnny F. Brown, who survives, of Paris, Tennessee.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by her two sons: Tony (Jennifer) Brown, of Paris, Tennessee, and Tim (Casey) Brown, of Paris, Tennessee; her brother-in-law: Jimmy Brown, of Puryear, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Alyssa Brown, Emily Brown, Caitlyn Brown, and Tyler Brown; one great=granddaughter: Ava; one niece: Tina Jo Burton-Spies, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; cousins: Beverly Burton Reed, Carol Howze Farmer, and Mary Ruth Miller; and her dog: Little Bama.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Steve Gallimore officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Scott “Round Boy” Morrison, Ron Davis, Jimmy Green, Scott Nanney, and Kevin Nanney.
Burial will be in Walker Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee.
