With $283,653 Raised So Far, Helping Hand Looks Ahead To Big Day Saturday

Paris, Tenn.–Saturday will be one of the biggest days for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, with members of the First United Methodist Church in Paris donating items. The First Baptist and First United Methodist Church have a mock rivalry each year which really brings out a of of donations.

Saturday will see two auctions–one day-time auction and another in-house evening auction. The day auction begins at noon and will be broadcast on our radio station and streaming on the Helping Hand website. Members of the church also will be serving lunch.

Friday’s items were donated by Easton’s Angels, Thriving At Home Senior Care, Salvation Army, HCHS Baseball, REAL Hope. Friday’s auctioneer was Ray Comption, with the Paris Rotary manning the phones.
With 14 slates, $8,766 was raised bringing the year-to-date total to $283,653.
During the week, auctions begin at 12:30 p.m. and on Saturdays, auctions begin at noon.

Helping Hand runs from January 8 through February 28 and raises thousands of dollars each year for over 90 non-profit and public service organizations. Last year was a banner year, with a record-setting $519,630 raised.
