Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Election Commission is in preparation mode for the March 5 Presidential Preference Primary and at Monday’s meeting, set times for the polls to be open on Election Day, reviewed the tally tape and sealed the voting machines.
In a busy session, the commission decided the polls would again be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Election officials will be going to local nursing homes today and tomorrow to set up voting for residents. Mock elections for the poll workers to prepare for the upcoming election will be held at the Election Commission February 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The early voting period for the March 5 primary is from February 14 to February 27. Early voting occurs at the Election Commission at 215 Grove Blvd., (the former Weston Hall) in Paris.
On Election Day, voting will occur at the eight voting centers in the county.
