
Mrs. Linda Gray, 69, of Big Rock, Tennessee, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, January 29, 2024. She passed away peacefully at her residence after a long-term illness surrounded by loved ones.
She was born as Linda Joyce Brown Wednesday, May 12, 1954, in Russellville, Kentucky, as the first child of Bettie Jo Brown and the late James “Courtland” Brown.
Linda was a devoted Christian, daughter, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Her infectious laughter and smile brought so much joy to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Linda was a true-blue Kentucky Wildcats fan.
She served alongside her husband, William Gray, in ministry for all 51 years of their marriage, most recently serving at Bear Springs Baptist Church in Bear Springs, Tennessee.
She taught preschoolers at Stewart County Head Start in Big Rock for over two decades.
She faithfully served on the board of The Good Samaritans charitable organization from 1992 until her passing.
Together Linda and her high school sweetheart: William had four children: Gary (Lori) Gray, Melinda (Don) Roe, Michael Gray and Nathan (Amber) Gray.
She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Dylan, Taylor (Thomas), Tiffany, Taryn, Max, Jacob, Ethan, Ari, and seven great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Rita (Phillip) Sowell, and brother, James “Jimmy” (Ronda) Brown of Russellville, Kentucky.
A visitation will be held at Anglin Funeral Home Monday, February 5. 2024, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Visitation will resume Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Harold Phillips and Bro. David Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Cemetery in Big Rock, Tennessee. Grandsons and son-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
