Paris, Tenn.–Due to country back roads that are still snowy and ice-covered, Henry County Schools will be closed Monday, January 22, while the Paris Special Schools District will be open.
County Schools Director Dr. Leah Watkins issued a message on the decision:
“Dear HCSS Family,
Thank you for your patience as our team assessed the roads this afternoon. We were hopeful the sunshine and increased temperatures would melt the areas of remaining concern across the county. Unfortunately, there is continued icing of a significant number of secondary roads throughout the county. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, there will be no school in HCSS on Monday, 1/22/24.”
