Henry, Tenn.–A 19-year-old was killed in a one-vehicle fatal accident on Thursday in Henry.
Henry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries around 11:20 a.m. to the area of Ben Smith and Melton Roads.
Eight firefighters responded, finding one injured patient trapped in the vehicle. The team extricated the patient, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Henry County Coroner.
Also on scene was the Henry Police Department, Henry County Emergency Medical Service ambulance, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
The THP released a report to RadioNWTN which states that the deceased was Dharma Dutton, age 19 of Tennessee. She was wearing a seat belt and was driving northbound on Ben Smith Rd. when the accident happened.
The THP policy is not to release the town that victims or other drivers are from, noting that the Tennessee code “states that personally identifying information contained in a motor vehicle accident report is confidential. This includes street addresses and zip codes. This has been interpreted as including the city of residence or a person involved in an accident.”
