Melba French Perkins, 95, of Paris, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at her residence.

Melba French Perkins was born Thursday, November 10, 1927, in Bogota, Tennessee, to the late Henry French and the late Lila Pitts French.

On February 3, 1951, she married James Perkins and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2012.

Melba was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Paris. She was also a member of L.L.L. and the senior bowling league.

In addition to her parents and husband, Melba was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Marie Hutson; and four brothers: Jesse French, Henry French, Sydney French, and Milton French.

Melba is survived by her daughter: Janice Martin, of Paris; two sons: Richard (Janis) Perkins, of Sycamore, Illinois, and Steven (Betty) Perkins, of Rockford, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Jessica (Cody) Bunch, Jaclyn (Larry) Kepp, Steven Perkins, Danny Perkins, Melissa (Patrick) Delisi, James Martin, Tanya Webb, and Michelle Martin; 11  great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her funeral service will be Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home, 507 W. Washington Street in Paris, with Wayne Perkins, Gerald Scott, Craig Peevyhouse, and Kevin Gallimore officiating.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 8th, and after 12:00 p.m.  Saturday, September 9th until service time at 2:00 p.m., all at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Ms. Perkins will be James Martin, Daniel Perkins, Dale French, Josh Christensen, Steven Perkins, Jerry Taylor, and Dave Chapman.
