
Camden, Tenn.–Benton County Mayor Mark Ward met Monday with State of Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart McWhorter to discuss infrastructure needs in rural communities. The two were joined by elected officials, members of the ECD staff, a TVA representative, utility representatives, the Benton County Industrial Development Board and the Benton/Decatur Sewer District Board. The meeting was held at the Benton County Electric System’s Meeting Room in Camden.
Mayor Ward said: “I want to thank our state, federal and local partners for meeting with me concerning these important issues. This was a very positive and productive meeting. Further positioning Benton County for positive growth is a major focus going forward and developing our infrastructure is vital to attracting new business and industry to Benton County. I am confident that we will be able to efficiently utilize the resources provided by our partners to move our community forward to a cycle of positive growth and economic prosperity.”
