
Union City, Tenn.–Obion County Sheriff’s Deputy K9 Sophia assisted with locating a woman who was lost in the woods in Gibson County for 48 hours. The woman was found still alive and in need of medical attention.
Sheriff Karl Jackson said Sophia was called to assist Gibson County deputies July 30.
The missing woman had driven to the dead end of a field road in a rural area where she ran out of gas and became stranded. “She left her vehicle on foot and became lost in the woods. Rescuers searched throughout the night and located the woman early the following morning still alive and in need of medical attention. She had been in the area for approximately 48 hours,” he said.
K9 Sophia did a good track and was rewarded for her work with a hot dog, Jackson said.
