Paris, Tenn.–Just in time for the upcoming Henry County Fair, a new Junior Livestock barn and hog facility is making its debut at the fairgrounds.

Volunteers were busy at work on the structure Saturday, as they have been over recent weeks. The public will see the new facility for the first time at the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce Coffee at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, with ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m.

Fair Board Treasurer Deneicia Gregson said the structure was funded by a Tennessee Department of Agriculture grant.

Tosh Farms of Henry has been proving concrete and work, holding pens and water lines. “Chip Hutson did work on an existing drain issue,” she said, “Tommy Hutson did repairs to a broken drain and cattle barn. Fair Board members worked on alleyways, new door to show ring, perimeter fencing at barn.”

Long-time Fair volunteer Leon Rogers was the project overseer.

Gregson said, “The Henry County Fair is proud of this new hog facility. We are thankful for all involved. They will be recognized at this event so come join us at this special Chamber Event!”

Meanwhile, the Henry County Farmers Market is back to the regular schedule this week:Tuesday morning 9-11 am and Friday afternoon 3 pm to 5:30 pm. Robin Brown of the Farmers Market said, “Tuesday morning the Henry County Chamber will be having the ribbon cutting for the new Livestock Barn and we invite everyone attending to stop by the farmer’s market while at the fairgrounds. Looking forward to a great morning. Hope to see you there.”
