Union City, Tenn.–Miss Tennessee Volunteer Paige Clark visited Union City Schools on Friday, offering encouragement and guidance to students in stops at UC Elementary and UCHS.
Clark, a 23-year-old pediatric nurse at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital who will represent Tennessee at Miss Volunteer America next June, centered her address to elementary school students around respect.
“Respect for others, respect for yourselves, and respect for other people’s things and your things are very important,” said Clark, who graduated from the University of Tennessee with top honors and is currently continuing her education at Johns Hopkins University as a third-year doctoral student.
She listed examples such as manners and following directions among the many areas of respect that should be a priority in every person’s life.
Paige serves as the Governor’s official spokesperson for Character Education as part of her duties and is touring a number of schools to speak to students in that role.
UC Middle School students joined the high school assembly to hear Clark, who estimated she’s spoken to around 10,000 students either in person or online.
Later Friday, she spoke to members of the Union City Rotary Club.
