Paris, Tenn.–The infamous aluminum foil ball is back where it belongs–with David ‘Tater’ Hayes and the World’s Biggest Fish Fry.

A long-time member of the Paris-Henry County Jaycees, Hayes has been collecting all the foil used in the Fish Tent for some 20 years and the foil ball has had an honored place at the annual Fish Fry and the Grand Parade every year. And, as you can imagine, the ball has grown and grown until it’s now so heavy it takes more than one man to lift it.

Well, the aluminum ball went missing Tuesday and took a wild trip around Paris to various landmarks. We have it on good authority that the ball turned itself in Thursday to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and from there, was returned to ‘Tater’ Hayes, where it belongs.

The foil ball was then able to participate in the Grand Parade on Friday, as it has for all these many years.
