Union City, Tenn.—A Union City woman was arrested on her second DUI charge after she allegedly struck a row of Harley’s parked in front of a local bar and grill, causing them to fall over.

Linda Mele, age 53, was charged after she reportedly failed the field sobriety tests given to her to Union City Police.

Police were called to the Bottom’s Up Bar & Grill at 112 S. First St. around 1 p.m. Saturday.  Upon arrived, several bikers approached the officer and said a woman driving a gray Suburban had pulled up to park and struck the row of Harley’s parked there, causing them to fall over and damaging them.

The driver of the SUV was located inside the bar and identified as Mele. When officers approached, she was drinking and when she exhibited slurred speech and lack of balance, she was asked to perform the field sobriety tests. According to the report, she failed all of the tests performed.

Mele was transported to the Obion County Jail and refused to submit to a blood or breath test and then was also charged with violation of the implied consent law.
