Heating Up Urine In Store Microwave Leads To Warrant

By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—Paris Police have issued an active warrant for a woman who heated up a cup of urine at a local convenience store, causing damage to the microwave when the cup exploded. And, as could be expected, employees were forced to decontaminate the store.

Police responded to a call at 7:40 a.m. Thursday at the Twice Daily store at 2504 E. Wood St. and employees informed him the woman had come into the store earlier carrying a large cup. The woman then put the cup into the store’s microwave, where it exploded.
According to Police Sgt. Eric Long’s report, employees told him the woman then went into the ladies’ restroom, exiting the store from a back door. She then got into a car and drove across the street to the Behavioral Health Group’s methadone clinic at 2555 E. Wood St.
Damage to the microwave and clean-up cost the store $350, according to the report.
Long’s report goes on to state that he saw the same woman at the Marathon convenience store on N. Market Street later that day. According to his report, the woman admitted the incident and said she had been heating up the urine for a friend who also was needed it for the methadone clinic.
Investigator Jeramye Whitaker told WENK/WTPR this morning that a misdemeanor warrant has been issued but the arrest has not been made.
