Darlene Barlow Evans

Darlene Barlow Evans, 73, of Paris, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, April 23, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born Saturday, on July 23, 1949, in Henry County, to the late Harrison Barlow and the late Myrtle Selph. Besides her parents, Darlene is also preceded in death by brothers: Henry, Larry, Robert, and Roy Barlow; sisters: Virginia Huff and Margret Kalbfell; sister-in-law: Mary Barlow and Ann Evans; in-laws: Jesse Evans and Evelyn Evans; and brother-in-law: J.C. Evans.

Darlene Evans was a kind and beautiful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. This world hates that she is gone but happy that she is now home, free and without pain. We will always love and miss her until we can meet again.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 57 years: Dorris S. Evans, married Friday, December 24, 1965; her sons: Jerry D. Evans and Robert D. Evans; her grandchildren: Rosemary Evans, Morgan Evans, Samantha Evans Scherfel, and grandson-in-law: Josh Scherfel; her sister: Edna Norwood; brothers: Steve Barlow and Bobby Barlow; brothers-in-law: Robert L. Evans, Jim Kalbfell and Jack Huff; many nieces and nephews that dearly loved her.

Darlene’s funeral service will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home, 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023, with Pastor Ed Long officiating. Burial will follow in Boothe Cemetery on Old Union Loop in Paris. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and after 11:30 a.m. Sunday until service.

The family wishes to express how grateful and blessed they are by their family, friends and neighbors who have been there for them and are sending out a heartfelt thank you!
