
Dover, Tenn.–The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Bureau of Investigations conducted a joint sex offender compliance check recently in Stewart County.
Sheriff Frankie Gray said Stewart County has a total of 27 sex offenders living in the county who are on the sex offender registry. With assistance from Chief Rick Smith and Officer Zack Hawk of Cumberland City Police, Josh MacDonald of Erin Police Department as well as THP Troopers, TBI Special Agents and TBI Intelligence Analysis contact was made with 21 of the sex offenders.
The other six were contacted the following day. A total of four were found not to be compliance. Three were arrested and charged and charges are pending on the fourth individual. Sex offender compliance check occur frequently across the state.
