The Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center will present an exhibition of photography, “Beyond The Dixie,” juried by professional photojournalist, Bill Bangham. The exhibit features the work of Dixie photography class members from January 2020 to the present and will be on display in The Dixie’s Ballroom Gallery from Mar. 4-Apr. 29, 2023. There will be an opening reception at 5:00 pm-7:00pm, Saturday, March 4, prior to the Doo Wop Project performance. Bill Bangham will join us and make comments on the exhibit.
Bill Bangham is a retired photojournalist, writer and editor from Memphis, Tenn. Three publications he edited were frequently recognized annually alongside National Geographic, German Geo, Time, and The New York Times for Best Use of Photography by a magazine in Pictures of the Year international and Best of Photojournalism. He is currently working on personal projects and speaks at colleges, universities and for professional organizations.
