Mrs. Rosalie Marie Boyd, 90, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Ahava Healthcare, Clarksville, Tennessee.
Rosalie was born Saturday, August 27, 1932, in Granite City, Illinois. She was the daughter of Mary and John Konarcik, Jr.
She lived in Granite City for most of her early life.
As a girl, she did volunteer work at the hospital.
She was a secretary at Union Starch.
Rosalie met and married the love of her life: William Nolan (Boots) Boyd, in 1951. They were happily married for 52 years before his passing in 2003.
Rosalie came to Stewart County when she and her husband bought a farm in 1976. They resided near Carlisle for the rest of their lives. They were patriarchs, founding members and continued supporters of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
Friends, neighbors and the community knew Rosalie from her 18 years as a cook at the Royal Care Nursing Home, where she was a favorite of staff and patients, and went out of her way to please folks who needed assistance with dietary restrictions.
Rosalie spent her time sewing, quilting and cooking delicious meals for her family.
She was happiest when her home was filled with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her first great-great-grandchild is due in May.
Rosalie is survived by her children: Rosemary Ledbetter (Daniel), of Olive Branch, MS, Thomas (Patricia) Boyd , of Tennessee Ridge, TN, John (Diane) Boyd , of Clarksville, TN, Joseph (Lisa) Boyd, of Nashville, TN, and Michael (Mary Jane) Boyd, of Memphis; her beloved grandchildren: William (Delania) Alexander, Matthew (Angel) Alexander, Robert (Megan) Boyd, Karen (Joseph) Dykes, Bryan (Amanda) Boyd, Lori (Ryan) O’Nan, Emily (Bryan) Probst, Sarah Boyd and Anna Boyd and Philip (Joy) Boyd; her wonderful great-grandchildren Olivia, Molly and Harper Alexander, Claire and Sam Dykes, Maddy, Landon and Preston Boyd, Parker (Victoria), Mason and Jackson Boyd, Gabi, Bailey and Amelia O’Nan, and Jade, Ruby and Zeke Boyd. She is also survived by her sister: Janice Willaredt, Granite City, IL.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 am at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 755 TN-49, Tennessee Ridge, TN. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial to follow at The Ham Cemetery, 4235-4239 State Road 49, Tennessee Ridge, TN.
