BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Ohio Valley Conference revealed its seventh regular season game of its 2022-23 ESPN basketball schedule today as the University of Tennessee at Martin’s Feb. 23 home men’s basketball contest against Tennessee State will air live on ESPNU at 8 p.m.
This season, the OVC is utilizing a “Wild Card” selection process to determine the best linear broadcasts with selections determined and announced approximately two weeks before the competition date to ensure the best matchups. With four regular season games remaining, the Skyhawks and Tigers sport identical 16-11 overall records and are two of five teams in a tie for second place at 8-6 in the league standings.
The Feb. 23 game will be the first nationally televised men’s basketball game from the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center since Dec. 28, 2017 and will be the first on the ESPN family of networks since Jan. 21, 2016.
This year’s OVC television package started its coverage on Jan. 5 and runs all the way through the 2023 OVC Championship tournament, which will be held on March 1-4 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind. Both men’s semifinals on Friday, March 3 will air live on ESPNU while the Saturday, March 4 championship game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Over 200 regular season OVC games and home regular season nonconference contests are streamed on ESPN+, which is the industry-leading sports streaming service that offers fans in the United States thousands of live sports events and original programming. Games aired on any ESPN network – as well as replays – will also be available through the ESPN App, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
