Paris, Tenn.–After another good day for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, a grand total of $128,964 has been raised so far this year. Only two weeks in to the annual auction, it’s been a record-breaking year.
It was Educator’s Day Saturday and with an afternoon and evening auction, a total $9,207 was raised with a total of 26 slates of items donated. A total $6,540 was raised in the afternoon and $2,667 in the evening. Auctioneer for the afternoon auction was Andy Collins, with Noel Hatman on in the evening. The county’s educators manned the phones at both sessions.
The Heny County High School baseball team worked all day, helping people load and unload their items.
Each year, thousands of dollars are raised for over 80 non-profit and public service groups. The auction began January 9 and runs through March 1.
On Monday, items will be donated by Quinn Chapel AME Church, St. John’s-CDS, HCHS Madrigals, and the Inman Beta Club. Looking ahead, Tuesday’s items will be donated by Cottage Grove and Center communities and Interrail Signal; and on Wednesday, items will be donated by Commercial Bank, Carroll Bank and Trust, Foundation Bank, Regions Bank, and First Bank.
