Our crews have worked around the clock throughout the day. They’ve battled sub-zero temperatures, high winds blowing snow on plowed roads, and have responded to several crashes on interstates and parkways.
Here’s what we’re up against going into the night: salt and chemical treatments don’t have the benefit of sunlight to help melt snow and ice. Throughout the day and into the night, we expect roads to refreeze in areas where melting occurred due to treatments, sunshine and heat from vehicles.
Here’s how you can help: Stay safe, not stranded! Staying off the roadways helps prevent adding another car to backups and helps ensure our crews and first-responders can do their jobs.
