Paris, Tenn.–A message from the Paris Board of Public Utilities:
It’s in the forecast for us to receive sub-freezing temperatures for highs later this week, through Christmas weekend. We want to help you prepare as we enter winter full force:
• Disconnect your hoses – leaving a hose outside in cold weather can cause any water inside it to freeze
• Let faucets drip – a steady water flow helps maintain a safe water pressure and prevent water from freezing inside your pipes
• Insulate exposed fixtures – keep exposed faucets, spigots, and pipes as warm as possible
• Make sure your foundation vents are closed to prevent freezing temps in your crawl space
• Make sure your heating system’s filter is clean
• Check on elderly neighbors & family members living alone
• Take care of your pets, too!
