Paris, Tenn.–Food left on stoves unattended prompted visits from the Paris Fire Department—one of which involved a forcible entry.

Firefighters responded to a residential fire alarm at 626 Powell St. Tuesday morning. Crews found no one home and visually checked the premises. They noticed odor coming from the back porch and decided to force entry.

Once inside, they found a pot on the stove and smoke throughout the house.

Firefighters turned off the stove, removed the pot and began smoke removal.

In another instance, firefighters were called to 687 Whitlock Rd., later that same day.

On arrival, they found the occupant had burned a sandwich on the stove, setting off an alarm.
