Paris, Tenn.–This year’s Leadership Henry County Class is excited to host a public forum at Krider Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, December 7 at 10:00 am in conjunction with their Economic Development Day.
Parisians Kyle Spurgeon, President, and CEO of the Greater Jackson Chamber, and Mark Herbison, HTL Advantage, will discuss how Ford’s Blue Oval City will affect Paris and Henry County in the future. In addition, Janna Hellums of the TN Dept. of Economic Development will join the panel.
“Working with your college roommate to help locate one of the largest manufacturing projects in North America was a special experience. Having the opportunity to come back to your hometown to discuss the project is also special,” Spurgeon said.
Both Kyle and Mark were instrumental in Ford Motor Company choosing West Tennessee as the destination for their new investment. Blue Oval City will be home to the industrial complex that will deliver Ford’s next all-new electric truck and batteries that will power the future Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Ford is spending $5.6 billion in developing Blue Oval City at the Megasite. About 6,000 new jobs are to be created as Ford works on revolutionizing how electric vehicles and batteries for them are manufactured.
“It’s exciting to be able to come home and talk about one of the most impactful projects in the state’s history. Ford’s Blue Oval City is going to bring generation change and opportunity to our region and it’s been an honor to be a part of the team that worked to land this historic deal,” Herbison said.
This event is free and open to the public. Leadership Henry County is a program under the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce. Betsy Hudgins and Armand Hebert are co-facilitators of the program.
