Paris, Tenn.–The Family Resource Center Toy Store opened Monday and will be open through December 15.
Family Resource Center Director Becky Holland said parents can come to the Toy Store in the Central Services Building in Paris and shop for their children. All the toys are free.
The program is for Henry County residents only and applicants cannot be on any other list. An application is needed to shop and you can call 731 642 2938 to make an appointment.
Holland said the Family Resource Center has been collecting the toys through donations from church groups, families and individuals and some of the toys were purchased through the Center’s benevolence fund.
The toys and gifts are good quality and feature a wide range for kids age zero to 17. For the older kids there are athletic equipment, laser tag, games, and make-up and beauty supplies for girls.
Holland said the program served 101 children last year, but last year’s Toy Store was only open two weeks. “This year we’re starting earlier, so we’re expecting to serve a lot more,” Holland said. With the selection of toys and gifts available, she said, “There’s no reason that children shouldn’t be able to get what they want here.”
The Family Resource Center works in conjunction with The Shed, which donated some $2,500 worth of toys.
There are plenty of stocking stuffers, too, with a huge pile of stuffed animals available.
