Skip the Black Friday shopping and join the Tennessee State Parks on the day after Thanksgiving for a post-holiday hike. They have guided hikes for all ages and abilities, from easy peaceful strolls to rugged ramblings. With 57 State Parks to choose from, it’s easy to find just the right hike at a park near you.
Both Paris Landing State Park and Reelfoot Lake State Park in our area plan Day After Thanksgiving hikes.
PARIS LANDING STATE PARK:
Join Ranger Gina Lowry at 9 a.m. on our annual Day After Thanksgiving Hike to burn off all of the turkey, deviled eggs, pumpkin pie, or whatever your favorite Thanksgiving treat is!
Meet her at the Nature Center to start the hike. We will be going on the Raptor Ridge Trail (about 3.0 mi). This is an easy to moderate trail. Please wear proper shoes and clothes for this hike. Remember to bring water too. Also, furry friends are encouraged to join!

REELFOOT LAKE STATE PARK
Meet at the Reelfoot Lake State Park Visitor Center/Museum at 9 a.m. The trail will be selected on the day of the hike. Be sure to bring: Water, Warm clothes, Water proof closed-toed hiking shoes. Optional items: Binoculars, field guides, camera.
This will be an easy/moderate hike that will consist of mostly even terrain. Please call the museum for more information! (731)253-9652
