
Mihail Kogălniceanu, Romania–The U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division has been deployed to Europe for the first time in some 80 years, training with Romanian Task Force 151 at one of the forward operating sites in Romania.
On the 101st Airborne Facebook page, Sgt. Michael Graves with Bravo company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team ‘STRIKE’, 101st Airborne Assault Division spoke about the live fire exercises.
“We are out here training with the Romanians so that we can get a better feel of what it would be like to work with them in a real-world scenario,” he said.
According to CBS News, the 101st is training only around three miles from Romania’s border with Ukraine.
The 101st “Screaming Eagles” are headquartered in Fort Campbell on the Kentucky-Tennessee border.
