Paris, Tenn.–The Downtown Paris Association has announced the winners of the 2022 Scarecrow on the Square contest, with Best of Show being the Henry County Medical Center plant operations. If you look closely, there really is water coming out of the Scarecrow’s sink.

Rachel Steedly of the Downtown Paris Association said the Scarecrow’s sink is powered by a solar panel hidden in the tree and a pump underneath it.

This year saw the most entries in the annual contest, with some 30 Scarecrows set up all over the court square in downtown Paris.

Other winners:

Most Original Commercial Bank & Trust

Best Constructed Krider Performing Arts Center

Honorable Mentions Paris Karate, Paris Police Department, Paris-Henry County Arts Council.

Vote for the People’s Choice Award by commenting on the DPA Facebook page. That award will be announced October 31.

Scarecrows on the Square will remain up through October for all to see.

Steedly said, “Thanks to all who participated this year. We have some extremely creative scarecrows for you to enjoy this fall.”
