Paris, Tenn.–At the Paris Utility Authority meeting last week, President & CEO Terry Wimberley addressed the consideration of approval of the engineering proposal with OHM Advisors for final design of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase 2 rehabilitation. This is the final project that will be completed with the USDA Rural Development funds that totaled $14 million. Of the $14 million, $5 million remain and all engineering fees and construction costs will be funded with the remaining balance.
In preparation for upgrades and improvements to the Paris Landing Substation for fiscal year 2024, consideration of approval for needed breaker bids was also discussed. To complete this project, a $52,000 69 kV circuit breaker and four $24,998 15kV circuit breakers are necessary. Wimberley explained the correlation of the bids presented to the long lead and delivery times that could potentially impact this project.
In the President’s report, Wimberley introduced employee guest, Paris BPU Mechanic, Andy Tyler. Andy joined the utility in 2011 and has continually ensured the safety of employees through his work each day for the last 11 years by managing our fleet of over 100 trucks/equipment.
