Gibson County, Tenn.—A juvenile and his passenger were transported to the hospital when the driver unsuccessfully tried to outrun a train in Gibson County early Wednesday evening.
A 17-year-old juvenile from Atwood was driving a 2012 Dodge Avenger which was struck by a train on Cades-Atwood Rd. near Hwy. 79 in Gibson County.
Tennessee Highway Patrol Sgt. Brad Wilbanks released the accident report to WENK/WTPR Wednesday evening.
According to the report, the juvenile and his passenger, Michael Jones, age 23, of Humboldt, both were transported to a hospital following the crash. The report does not indicate the extent of their injuries.
The driver told troopers that he saw the flashing red lights at the crossing but tried to beat the train.
