Kuttawa, Ky.–A microburst early this morning caused significant damage to the marina, docks and several boats at Hu-B’s in Kuttawa Harbor.
The storm occurred around 5:10 a.m. this morning when strong thunderstorm winds blew through the area.
Damage was widespread, with estimates at the $2M to $3M range, but no injuries were reported.
Stephen Miles reported, “Several docks and lifts and boats destroyed, but luckily everyone is safe and sound. My dock and lift are gone. Luckily my boat was parked in a different slip.”
Miles said the staff at Hu-B’s in Kuttawa Harbor moved quickly to recover boats and clean up the damage.
