Paris, Tenn.—A former Paris man was sentenced to two years in jail following a plea agreement which reduced his original attempted murder charge to aggravated assault.
Mario Threatt, age 36, who has listed both Irvine Street in Paris and Memphis as his address, was arrested in May for the stabbing of Michael Pittman, age 42, of Memphis, during an altercation on Wynn Street in Paris.
Threatt had originally been charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
In a court hearing Monday in Henry County Circuit Court, Threatt was sentenced to two years with the Department of Correction, to be served in the community corrections program. The tampering charge was dismissed.
