George Adam Jackey, 83, of Buchanan, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his residence.

Born Thursday, September 29, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Roy Jackey and the late Ada Bell Kirschbaum Jackey.

George was a retired sales rep in the industrial coating industry. He attended the First Christian Church in Paris and was a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing, feeding the deer, traveling, and walking. George had previously served on the Antioch Cemetery board.

He married Margaret “Peggy” Jackey Friday, December 8, 1961, who preceded him in death, Friday, February 7, 2020.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Thompson, and Juanita Lyninger; and a brother, Robert Jackey.

Survivors include his children: Kimberly Jackey (Chris) Burkem of Crawford, Colorado, and Brian (Lorilea) Jackey, of Henryville, Indiana; girlfriend and caregiver: Linda Howle, of Buchanan; a sister: Margaret Morris Stone, of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren: Kyle Jackey, Sarah Jackey, Lily (Jeramiah) Robison, and Keegan Burke; and three great grandchildren, Reagan Kaye Jackey, Lylah Mae Robison, and Finn Adam Jackey.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Caren Teichmann officiating.

Burial of his remains will be in the Antioch Cemetery at a later date.
