
McKenzie, Tenn.–McKenzie Farmers Market had another big day on Saturday. Over 325 customers came to browse the booths and hear the Colton Baker and Company Band.
Vendors sold fresh produce including tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, onions, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers, yellow squash and zucchini. We also have the fabulous Baker Birds fresh poultry for sale. Customers are giving rave reviews about the mouthwatering,juicy flavor of these fresh chickens.
They had a variety of delicious baked goods including cherry, apple and pecan pies, a variety of breads and cakes, oreo balls cake bombs and cake pops. They also had just popped kettle corn in an assortment of flavors.
To cool off, customers sipped on “Looney Lemonade” and sweet tea. Vendors also offered a variety of scented candles, handmade jewelry, dish towels, bird houses, beautiful crocheted and knitted baby clothes and toys.
Be sure to save the date for June 25th for the beginning of the children’s activities sponsored by our Carroll County 4-H. The first activity celebrates June Dairy Month with,”Mooove Over for Dairy,” and begins at 10 a.m. on the 25th. Children’s activities will be the 4th Saturday of each month.
The McKenzie Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon or until vendors sell out. It is also open Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Vendor booths are $5.00 per week or $20.00 for the season. Call 731-352-2292 for vendor information. All products must be home grown, or hand made.
