Dyersburg, Tenn.–On May 18, 2022, at approximately 7:19 p.m., Dyersburg police responded to 470 Mall Blvd., in reference to a person that had been shot. Officers arrived to find the victim in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Jimmy Burns, age 43, Dyersburg, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Caleb Edwards, age 20, Newbern, was identified as a person of interest by witnesses on the scene, and is currently being sought by law enforcement.
Anyone with information where Edwards may be located is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 285-TIPS, or 285-1212. Use caution if you come into contact with Edwards, he is believed to be armed and is considered dangerous. Call 911 if you encounter Edwards, do not approach him.
