Funeral services for James M Ownby are Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment is at Mt Olivet Cemetery and Brother Rob Harris is the officiant.
Mr. Ownby, 87 years old, died Friday, May 13, 2022 at Baptist Hospital Union City. He is a US Army veteran and was the owner / operator of James Ownby Heating & Cooling. He was born in McKenzie on June 2, 1934 to Rollin “JR” and Oteria Bunn Ownby.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn Price Ownby of McKenzie, three daughters Vicky (Victor) Clark of Springville, Terry Ownby of Atwood and Saudia (Dana) Akin of McKenzie, a son Kyle (Kim) Manns of McKenzie, a sister Wanda (Charles) McCaskey of Cookville, nine grandchildren Jill (Harris) Kennedy, Thomas (Holly) Clark, Rachael (Allen) Wade, Clint (Emily) Manns, Corey Manns, Brad Stafford, Chris (Becky) Wall, Allan Akin and Alec (Colby) Akin and 9 great-grandchildren.
