Bessie Ruth Davis Ashby, 90, Mansfield, Tennessee, Passed away at her residence Monday, April 18, 2022.
Mrs. Ashby was born Tuesday, November 17, 1931, in Mansfield, Tennessee to Isaac Fielding Davis and Sarah Gladys Hastings Davis, who both preceded her in death. She married Donald Morris Ashby Saturday, October 17, 1953. Her husband preceded her in death on June 1, 2001. Her two brothers Charles Davis and Carl Davis also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ashby was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of McKenzie and attended Shiloh Methodist Church of Mansfield. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Ashby leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Donna Ashby Wade, of Huntingdon, Tennessee; sons Morris Davis (Lisa) Ashby, of Milan, Tennessee, Jeff Ashby, of Paris, Tennessee, and Kent (Sandi) Ashby, of Mansfield, Tennessee; grandchildren: Christopher Ashby, Blaine Ashby, Bradley (Jennifer) Ashby, Bobby Ashby and Anna Wade; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Pat Ashby, of Winchester, Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022, at McEvoy Funeral Home, with James Hazelwood presiding over services.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and after 12 p.m. Thursday until time of service.
Dean Davis, David Davis, Shane Wheet, Logan Ledsinger, Josh Filtz. and Annibale Clericuzio will serve as pallbearers.
