Paris, Tenn.–K9 teams from all over the region and beyond have been training at the Henry County Fairgrounds this week with the National Narcotic Detector Dogs Association. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the five-day workshop and Sgt. Ricky Wade is the coordinator for the local training sessions and has been since 2007.

Wade said the K9 teams are at the Holly Fork Shooting Complex in Paris all morning today, performing narcotic competitions that are open to the public.

K9 teams also visited local schools Thursday.

This year, there are 51 teams in Henry County from several states, including Kentucky, Ohio, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kansas, Montana, South Carolina and several police and sheriff’s departments from Tennessee.
