McKenzie Rebels On Way To Murfreesboro

McKenzie, Tenn.–McKenzie Rebels’ Freshman Forward Tate Surber cuts a portion of the net following the Rebels’ victory Monday night over Richland High School from Linville by a score of 58-50.

The Rebels hosted the TSSAA Sectional game to determine who will make the elite eight of TSSAA tournament action next week in the Single A category.  With the victory McKenzie will now face Peabody, who won over MASE 52-44 on Thursday of next week at 2:45 in Murfreesboro.

West Carroll advanced by beating Santa Fe and will play at 10 am starting the day on Thursday the 17th.  For the first time in school history, the McKenzie Rebels and Lady Rebels will both make the trip to Murphreesboro for the TSSAA state championship games.

Girls action gets underway this Thursday with three local teams representing Single A catagory.  Dresden will start off Thursday at 10:00 against Van Buren County, Wayne County will take on Cloudland at 11:45, Gleason will play Clay County at 1:15 and McKenzie will play North Green  at 2:45.  Should Gleason and McKenzie both win they wlll play each other on Friday at 6 P.M.
Gibson County and Westview will both be playing today (Tuesday, March 8).  Gibson County will take on York Institute at 11:30 and Westview will follow at 2:45 against Riverside in AA bracket.  Dyer County will play Page High School in AAA bracket today at 4:30.
