ERIN, Tenn.—Supported by his wife, children and colleagues, State Rep. Jay Reedy, R-Erin, today officially announced his re-election campaign for the 74th District of the Tennessee House of Representatives.
“We have only just begun our fight for reform in the 74th District and I’m here today to announce our work is far from finished,” Reedy said. “The good people of Houston, Humphreys, Benton, Stewart and Henry counties must have a seat at the table where decisions are being made. Since I was elected, I have given a voice to my constituents and I aim to continue that record of service in the General Assembly.”
A cattle farmer and small business owner from Houston County, Reedy was first elected to represent the 74th House District in November of 2014. Since that time, he has quickly ascended the ranks of leadership within the Tennessee House of Representatives and helped craft an impressive agenda of success for the General Assembly.
“Later this year, all of us will vote in a critical national election that will determine the future course of our nation,” Reedy said. “Ideally, the conservative movement will sweep into Washington, D.C. like it has done here in Tennessee. Our state has proven to be a model for achievement under conservative leadership. We absolutely must continue that track record.”
Reedy is a proven conservative who understands the challenges facing the working families of Houston, Humphreys, Benton, Stewart and Henry counties and has fought for lower taxes, better education and a government that is a resource, not a hindrance, for the job creation all Tennesseans want to see.
He believes the common sense, conservative values he’s learned over the years make him a consistent and effective voice for the people of the 74th House District.
“I was given a mandate to reform and that’s exactly what I’ve focused on in the State Capitol,” Reedy said. “Each time I speak with my neighbors about making Tennessee an even better place to live, work and raise a family, it reconfirms the sense of purpose I feel to make a difference each and every day I am given the privilege to serve the citizens of the 74th District. That is why I am officially announcing my re-election campaign for state representative.”
