Paris, Tenn.–Paris Board of Public Utilities crews will continue working through the night as outages continue in Henry County.

In a Facebook Live update this afternoon, CEO Terry Wimberley said crews have been out all day and will be out over night working as outages happen.

With ice forming on trees and power lines, outages have been occurring off and on all day and most probably will continue in the overnight hours, he said.

Earlier this morning, there were some 6,000 customers without power and crews due to a transmission line that feeds four substations affected by the freezing rain.

Crews have continued to whittle those numbers down all day and will keep at it, Wimberley said. “You may have even experienced more than one outage today”, he said. “There’s a lot of wire down” throughout the county.

Most of the problems have occurred in the northern part of Henry County, in the Cottage Grove-Puryear areas.

As we reported earlier this morning, you can view real time outage information in the MyBPU app or using the outage tracker linked below. BPU will post updates on here as they become available.
