
Erin, Tenn.–Friday’s fire at a Houston County nursing home claimed the life of one man and left dozens needing medical treatment.
Some three dozen residents at the Signature Healthcare in Erin were displaced and relocated to other facilities, including local school buildings.
Channel 2 in Nashville is also reporting that the Erin Fire Chief was transported for medical treatment for smoke inhalation.
Mutual aid was provided by several area first responders, including Dickson County Fire & Rescue, Sumner EMS and Vanderbilt Life Flight.
In a Facebook post, Sumner EMS noted they provided “three EMS units and command staff to assist with the evacuation of a nursing home in Erin after an unfortunate fire forced the relocation of multiple residents. Sumner EMS AND several other agencies were requested through the State of Tennessee Office of EMS. Good work team!”
Vanderbilt also provided ambulances at the scene.
