Incumbents, Political Newcomers Pick Up Qualifying Petitions In Henry County

Paris, Tenn.–Several incumbents and newcomers to political races have already picked up their qualitifying petitions in Henry County to run in the May election. Monday was the first day that prospective candidates could pick up their petitions.

Henry County Elections Administrator DeLaina Green said the deadline to return signed petitions is noon February 17, 2022.

As of Tuesday morning, the following incumbents have picked up their petitions:

Chancellor Vicki Hoover, Sheriff Josh Frey, Public Defender Tas Gardner and Clerk of Courts Mike Wilson.

Also picking up petitions to run for office are:

Neil Thompson, running for District Attorney for 24th Judicial District

Steve O’Brien, running for Henry County Commissioner, District 1.

Several offices are on the ballot for the May 3 election, including Henry County mayor, Henry County Commissioners, Sheriff, Trustee, Circuit Court Clerk, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Highway Commission, Constables, General Sessions Judge, Circuit Court Judge, Chancellor 24th District, District Attorney, Public Defender.

Green said the last day to register to vote is April 4, with early voting period from April 13-April 28.
