Union City, Tenn.–Things were “heating up” recently among sixth-grade science students at Union City Middle School.
Luann Barkley’s classes took a hands-on approach while learning the differences between heat, temperature and thermal energy.
Students worked through several different lab experiences, overseen by Barkley. They witnessed energy transfers from one object to another employing conduction, convection and/or radiation.
According to their teacher, energy was truly high among the classes as they turned up the temperature on learning.
