Paris, Tenn.–Rhea Elementary Principal Chris Hudgins was at the receiving end of water balloons thrown by students as their reward for meeting their goal of reading 2,500 books in Book Fair Week. Rhea PTO President Stacy Hayes said Hudgins earlier challenged the K-2 students to meet the goal and the students were surprised with the news Friday afternoon–along with the news that they would be throwing water balloons at him. The students gathered as Hudgins rode an adult tricycle decorated with balloons along the front driveway. Vice Principal Lynda Searcy had another surprise for him, but he was able to swerve and avoid being hit by the pie in the face she had waiting. (David Jackson photo).
