McKenzie, Tenn.–A tractor was destroyed and an acre of field was burned Thursday at Long Heights Baptist Church on Old Paris Road near McKenzie.
McKenzie Fire & Rescue was dispatched at 3 p.m. and found the tractor had caught fire while bush hogging the field adjacent to the church. The tractor was completedly destroyed and approximately an acre of the field burned.
Firefighters were called back a few hours later when the tractor reignited. Fire officials said it was determined that there was remaining fire and heat in the rear wheel hubs, and this set the left rear tire on fire.
