Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Helping Hand Board of Directors plans to return to a live in-person and radio auction in 2022.
The 2021 Helping Hand Radio Auction was modified due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, but the organization still raised a whopping $302,343 for distribution to dozens of local non-profit organizations which are helped by the annual event.
Treasurer Susan Bell said the Board of Directors decided to “step out on faith” in planning a full auction this year. The Board “definitely wants to be safe and protect everyone so they appointed a safety committee to meet and set up guidelines,” she said. The safety committee has been set up to establish modifications and guidelines to help protect everyone involved, from volunteers to bidders.
Tentative auction dates are Monday, January 10th through Wednesday, March 2nd at the Paris Convention Center. Helping Hand will soon contact communities and organizations to set the calendar and will need additional volunteers to make the auction run smoothly.
Applications for funding will be available on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at McLean and McLean Law Office, 206 W. Washington Street, Paris, TN. The deadline for returning the completed applications is Friday, November 12 at 5:00 pm.
Current Helping Hand officers are President John Berryman, Vice President Danny Veazey, Secretary Mary Kate Ridgeway and Treasurer Susan Bell.
Helping Hand officials asked everyone to make plans to volunteer, donate money, and provide items for bidding to support over 80 nonprofit charitable organizations in our community.
