Martin, Tenn.—The Martin Police have now identified the victim the homicide discovered this morning as a 48-year-old Martin woman. She is identified as Barbara J. Higgs, age 48, of 146 Brooks Drive.
The homicide was discovered at approx. 9:13 am this morning, when MPD officers responded to 146 Brooks Dr. to perform a welfare check because a resident of that location had reportedly not shown up for work.
When officers checked the residence, they located a deceased female inside the residence.
In the meantime, a request has been issued for law enforcement to be on the lookout for a person of interest and a vehicle that he may be traveling in.
The subjects name is Eric D. Higgs, BM, 46 years of age, 6’2” tall, weighing approx. 200 lbs., brown eyes and black hair.
