
Camden, Tenn.–Following investigation by the TBI, Tennessee Homeland Security and the Camden Police, a Martin woman has been arrested for calling in a false bomb report to Camden Hospital over the Memorial Day weekend.
The hospital was evacuated and briefly closed and the search of the hospital and investigation involved multiple agencies and numerous manpower and resources, according to Camden Police.
Arrested is Carlin M. Bush, age 31, who is identified as a former employee of Camden General Hospital.
Bush was taken into custody without incident after being released from a treatment facility on June 12 and has been booked in the Benton County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
According to the press release from the Camden Police, on Saturday Morning May 29, at 7:55 a.m., the Camden Police Department received a report of a bomb threat being called into the Camden General Hospital.
The hospital immediately evacuated the building. Tennessee Highway Patrol K-9 Bomb Dogs were requested and responded to the scene. The hospital was then cleared by THP State Troopers with Bomb Detection K-9 Units. No device was located or discovered on hospital property and the hospital was given then all clear to return to the building.
It was determined that this was a hoax and false report of a bombing and there was no actual device, according to Camden Police.
A criminal investigation was then conducted by Camden Police Investigators, who then requested the assistance of Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Special Agents and State of Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland-Security Agents.
During the course of the investigation, CPD Investigators, TBI Special Agents, and Tennessee Homeland Security Agents were able to track and ping through 911 and phone records to a known registered telephone # that is identified to Carlin M. Bush.
Carlin Bush was identified as a former employee of the Camden General Hospital that resigned from the hospital according to hospital records. It was determined that Carlin Bush placed the false bomb report call to the hospital from a hospital location in Martin.
Martin Police Department assisted in the investigation and located the suspect who was sent for a forensic evaluation. An arrest warrant was obtained by CPD Investigators for TCA 39-16-502 (1) Count of False Reports-Bomb Threats a C Felony. Carlin Bush was taken into custody without incident after being released from a treatment facility June 12 and has been booked in Benton County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
