Paris, Tenn.–The Paris Downtown Boxing Club came home from the USA National Boxing Championship with not just one, but TWO National Titles.

Demarccus Patton won the National Championship Title in the Intermediate Class, while his brother, Cam’ron Patton came home as National Champion in the Youth Class. As National Champion of the Youth Class, Cam’ron will again get to travel to the Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs and fight internationally representing the United States.

The Paris Club attended the 2020 USA National Boxing Championship March 25-April 3 in Shreveport, La. The tournament was rescheduled from December of last year due to the pandemic. Over 1,100 boxers competed over nine days.

Demarccus Patton, son of Fran Patton and Nick Howard, won the National Championship Title against Aubry Sandavol of New Town, North Dakota, in the 176 Intermediate class.

Cam’ron Patton, son of Fran Patton, fought three times in the Youth 201+ class. He defeated Lorenzo Medina of Hollywood, Florida in his first Match.  He won by second round stoppage against Ty Jackson of Alexander, Arkansas in the Semi-Finals. Cam’ron clenched the National Title by defeating Ali Feliz from Danbury, Connecticut.

Jaylen Cadet, son of Shannon Cadet, lost by decision to Seth Duran of Columbia, Tennessee in the Junior 154 class. This was Jaylen’s first trip to Nationals.

Coach Derik Moon said he is very proud of all the boxers. “We have not fought in more than a year. These kids kept training and working hard and it paid off. We are very thankful for all of the support shown from the people, businesses, and organizations in Henry County,” Moon said.
